After slogging for more than a month, finally I'm done with exams.
Really really worked so hard for the exams..
Hopefully my efforts will be paid off..
Then I'll graduate and be out in the working force by Jan of next year.
But before getting and perm job i need to get back to my part time for now.
I'd rather be busy like mad than stay at home and do nothing..
So I'm going back to the Vet tomorrow and hope to get the job assignment for ACCA (hopefully not to late), which would be a good stepping stone to RELC i guess..

Counting down to my quarter decade crisis : 14 Days!

I was chatting with HD (1 of my poly bestie) just now
Telling him about my fears in my comeing exam
He kept encouraging me as usual and
Told me to tell myself "I CAN DO IT!"

I was doing my not very quiet, "quiet time" at the same time, reading "The Vine"
Today's article was on "Anxiousness"

When You Feel Anxious (1)
Do not be anxious about anything...
Philippians 4:6 NIV
Anxiety starts as a trickle then creates a channel in our mind through which all our thoughts begin to flow. Most of our anxieties fall into three categories:

1) Anxiety about things we all face: like aging, disability, retirement, loneliness, financial uncertainty, accidents, illness, losing a loved one, and death.

2) Anxiety about things we all must do: like making decisions, starting and ending relationships, losing weight, changing careers, making a mistake.

3) Anxiety reflecting our inner state of mind: These anxieties reveal how we feel about our ability to handle things. For example, fear of rejection can affect every relationship in your life.

In order to avoid being hurt you shut others out, your world grows smaller and your opportunities for personal growth are more limited.
Many of our anxieties can be reduced to one question, "What if I can't handle it?" Your mind is the battlefield where victory is won or lost.

So ask yourself, "Would I still be anxious if I knew for certain I could handle anything that came up?" The answer is no. Anxiety can't immobilise you and steal your joy when you know you can handle whatever happens.

You say, "That sounds too simple." Not when you bring God into the picture! Here are two great anxiety eliminating Scriptures you can stand on when times are tough:

1) "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13 NKJV).

2) "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds" (Philippians 4:6-7 NIV).

Seems like God is using HD to speak to me, and letting me see "light" with today's read..
No matter what i wanna thank HD for his encouragement!!
And hopefully we can meet up with the rest soon!!

"Trust is like a sand castle. It takes a long time to build it but it takes just ONE mistake to destroy it. When it is destroyed, either it takes a extremely long time to rebuild it or it will vanish forever."

To Rebuild or Vanish?

Don't Keep Your Love In A Box!

http://www.thevine.co.nz/word/archive/2009/10/07

You will not always have the "Special" person with you.

Have you ever wonder if you have done enough to show/tell the person how important he/she is to you?

Will you put in 200% effort to think of how the cheer the person up when you made them upset?

Will you do anything to amend what you have done, starting from the underlying reason?

Will you do all the lame and stupid things just to see that person smile?

Will you think hard to recall how well you understand or know that person?

Acts of love and kindness are usually not about doing great things, but about doing small things with great love.

If you think good things about someone, tell them. Go out of your way to fill their lives with joy while there's still time. Those expressions of appreciation, those words of forgiveness, that special gift you've had in mind, give it while you can. Don't keep your love in a box!

If your answer is Yes to the questions above, then make the effort to do whatever you can. Sorry don't often do the trick. So "Show your heart"! Give your best when you still can!

Don't allow yourself to have any regrets, cherish when you have the chance, when you will have them!

Our Dearest Parsley...

I still remember how mad mum was when i bought Sunny home. She was not only worried about house keeping issues with animals at home, but she was also worried that i would get so affected when my pets pass on. Soon she blamed me even more, because she knows that one day when Sunny leaves us for "Doggy Heaven", she would be as heart broken as i am.

Since i've got into the line of animal care. i've grown attached to the "Kids" at the clinic. I look forward to seeing them every working day, and they are also my motivation. They were the ones who never fails to show how happy and how appreciative they were to us by wagging their little tails.

Mid this year our Dearest Piggy left us. I still remember Joyce telling us that he insisted in sharing a cage with Parsley the night before he left. He departure was so sudden. But i wasn't there.

Today (4th Oct 09) Parsley too left us.I was trying so hard to hold back my tears, but i fail, while talking to Sam. I guess it was harder for Sam, she had to see her leave. Yet again i wasn;t at the clinic. Parsley's departure was an expected one but we didn't know it was so soon. We know she hasn't been at her best of health, due to her age and her days or being a farm dog.

I'm having mixed feelings. I can't bear to let her go, but yet i know she'll be happier and free from any pain. Although she's gone, but she'll be in our hearts. We'll say our last goodbyes to her and "send" her to "Doggy Heaven". I can't explain how heartbroken i am now, perhaps only with my tears.
The picture: Parsley "looking up" in the sky at Bishan Park.

I remember someone saying a few days ago that there's no need to praise someone when he/she did well becos ppl will see it for themselves, but instead you gotta pin point the bad/wrong doings..

I totally disagree with it but, didn't speak up at that point when i heard it, cos i din wan to make the situation worse..

Now, I have something to share with u all..

From The Vine " Encourage Someone Today"

If a man's gift is... Encouraging, let him encourage...
Romans 12:6-8 NIV

There's no better exercise for strengthening your heart than stooping to lift somebody else. Think about it: your best friends are the ones who encourage you. Who wants to hang around somebody who always puts you down?

Comments: Totally agree to this.. Seriously!! Why would u wan to hang out or even be near to someone who puts ppl down.. N what kind of person does the person make out to be??

Dr Maxwell Maltz interviewed the son of a successful businessman. The boy had refused to take over the family business after his dad's death, even though it would've made him wealthy. He explained, "You don't understand the relationship I had with my father. He was a driven man who came up the hard way. His objective was to teach me self-reliance and he thought the best way to do it was never to encourage or praise me. Every day we played catch in the yard. The idea was for me to catch the ball ten straight times. I'd catch it eight or nine times, but always on that tenth throw he'd do everything possible to make me miss it. He'd throw it on the ground or over my head, so I'd no chance of catching it." He then paused tearfully and said, "That's why I have to get away; I want to catch that tenth ball!"
This young man grew up feeling he could never measure up, never be perfect enough to please his father.

Sound familiar? William James said, The deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated." Most of us think wonderful things about people, but we never tell them. Praise becomes valuable only if you impart it. So, today go out of your way to encourage somebody.

So common ppl lets be nice and encourage someone today.. Let them know how great they are!!
It'll make their day, as well as yours!!! =)

God Bless!!
